PURPOSE:To obtain a multi-track type magnetic head having high track density by deciding the track selecting method according to an open or closed state of a magnetic circuit for said magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:Plural pieces of open magnetic circuits 2 having a magnetic gap 1 for recording/reproduction are stuck together via nonmagnetic members 3. Both circuits 2 and members 3 are processed flat and smooth on an open/close changeover surface 7 of circuits 2 where a contact is secured with an open/close member 4 of circuits 2. Then the member 4 is moved on the surface 7 by a stepping motor, etc. together with a contact secured between the member 4 wound by a recording/reproduction coil 5 and the surface 7 with no magnetic loss. Then a desired circuit 2 is closed for execution of the recording/reproduc ing jobs. In such a way, the track density is improved greatly with a multi-track type magnetic head. |
