PURPOSE:To prevent double typing and to eliminate printing irregularity, by differentiating the feed speed of a ribbon between a time when a ribbon feed direction and the moving direction of a second printing part coincide and a time when both directions do not coincide. CONSTITUTION:CPU 16 allows a carriage 3 to rearwardly move at a constant speed in order to perform dot matrix printing and the ribbon feed data under the condition at this time, that is, under such a condition that dot matrix printing is performed and a ribbon feed direction coincides with the moving direction of second printing part 7 is read and, on the basis of this data, the feeding of the ribbon is performed at a ribbon feed speed not coinciding with the feed speed of the second printing part 7. During this operation, dot matrix printing is performed by the second printing part 7 to prevent the double typing at the same place on a printing ribbon. When a first printing part 6 is moved to the same direction, the intermittent feed amount of the printing ribbon 13 is increased as compared with that of the first printing part 6. |
