PURPOSE:To reduce turning resistance by providing a skeg disposed at the bottom of a stern to be driven for rotation. CONSTITUTION:A skeg device comprises vertically extending flat moving members 2 arranged in a line along and below the center line of the rear half portion of a hull. When the hull 1 turns to the right, a rudder 8 is controlled and a motor 7 is driven to turn each moving member 2 by a predetermined angle around a supporting shaft 3. When the hull 1 begins turning round, a flow from the transverse side toward the rear half portion of the hull is generated, which passes through openings between the turned moving members 2 toward the starboard.
