A numerically controlled grinding machine, in particular a profile-grinding machine, is described, said grinding machine having a machine bed (1, 1a), a grinding spindle head (3) displaceable horizontally on the machine bed in a first direction (Z) and pivotable about a vertical axis (B1), a workpiece column (23) arranged on the machine bed, and a workpiece slide (24) movable vertically on the workpiece column (in Y-direction). The workpiece column (23) and the grinding spindle head (3) are displaceable horizontally relative to one another, transversely to the first direction. The workpiece slide (24) carries a workpiece head (27) which is rotatable about a horizontal, concentric axis of rotation (A) and on which at least one workpiece holder (32) is mounted pivotably about a pivoting axis (C) perpendicular to the axis of rotation.
