PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive material high in sensitivity superior in graininess in the low image density region by forming an emulsion layer contg. a monodispersed silver halide emulsion contg. silver iodide in a specified mol% or higher and a silver halide emulsion contg. silver iodide less than a specified mol% and a specified average particle diameter. CONSTITUTION:At least one of photosensitive silver halide emulsion layers contains as main components a core-shell type monodispersed silver halide emulsion A contg. silver iodide in an amt. of >=5mol%, and a core-shell type silver halide emulsion B contg. silver iodide in an amt. of <5mol% and having an average particle diameter Y smaller than 0.7 X, X being that of the emulsion A. Both emulsions A, B may be chemically spectrally sensitized to the same color sensitivity, thus permitting the obtained photosensitive material to form a high-quality image improved in exposure latitude and graininess. |
