PURPOSE:The titled antibody AP-2, produced by a hybridoma obtained by subjecting cells producing an antibody obtained by immunizing a mouse with a pancreatic cancer cell with a myelomatous cell to cell fusion reaction, capable of carrying out the antigen-antibody reaction with an antigen contained in human pancreatic cancer, and belonging to subgroup IgG1. CONSTITUTION:A pancreatic cancer cell or homogenate thereof or an antigen collected therefrom is inoculated into, for example BALB/C mouse, at an inter val of several days-several weeks several times to immunize the mouse. The pancreas are then excised from the mouse, and centrifuged to give cells produc ing an antibody, which is then mixed together with cells producing myelomatous cells of the same animal as the cells producing the antibody with a cell fusion agent, e.g. polyethylene glycol, preferably at 2:1-10:1 to carry out the cell fusion and give a fused cell. The resultant fused cell is cloned by the limiting dilution method, and then subjected to the fluorescent antibody technique or enzymic antibody technique, etc. to give a hybridoma producing the desired antibody. The resultant hybridoma is then cultivated to give the aimed antibody, reactive with human pancreatic cancer but unreactive with normal tissues, e.g. pancreas, stomach, liver, etc.
