PURPOSE:To surely execute the sealing and improve productivity by comprising a process for positioning a cathode ray tube bulb so that an electron gun is loated to the predetermined position without movement of heating device, a process for accurately arranging electron gun and a process for cutting by welding the cullet while the desied load is applied to the flare part of nect during sealing by welding. CONSTITUTION:The side wall in the vicinity of neck 11 of a cathode ray tube valve 10 is supported by a valve support 21 and this valve support 21 is moved in the direction of arrow mark 23 by a moving mechanism so that an electron gun 13 assembed on a stem 14 is set to the predetermined position within the neck 11. However, position of stem 14 and gas burner 261 for sealing is not changed. Next, the neck 11 is heated by the gas burner 261 for sealing, the neck 11 and stem 14 are welded and sealed and then the welding point of cullet 12 consisting of a part of neck 11 and the flare part 111 is heated and cut with a burner 262 for welding. In this case, welding can be done easily even when the cullet 12 is light, by moving a cullet holder 27 provided at the external wall of flare part 111 with a drive mechanism 28.
