PURPOSE:To prevent the breakage of a bearing member by absorbing the deflection of the axis center by deforming a diaphragm in the center deflection of a slidable shaft. CONSTITUTION:A bearing member 7 is divided into plural parts in the circumferential direction, and arranged onto the whole surface of the inner peripheral surface of an inside holding ring 6. When center deflection is generated, a diaphragm 5 is deformed to set the inside holding ring 6 and the bearing member 7 along the axis center of a slidable shaft 8. In this case, even if the diaphragm 5 is deformed, the axis center level of the center part of the plain bearing 1 is not varied. Therefore, in the center deflection state of the slidable shaft 8, the diaphragm 5 is deformed to absorb the deflection of the axis center, and the contact defect of the bearing member due to the deflection of the axis center can be lightened, and the breakage of the bearing member 17 can be prevented.
