PURPOSE:To obtain a titled cable of which the transmission loss is low even at a low temp. by constituting a waterproof compd. of a mixture contg. a prescribed ratio of a process oil having prescribed properties and rubber intermediate block and contg. a prescribed ratio of atactic PP having prescribed properties. CONSTITUTION:The water-proof compd. of the waterproof type optical fiber cable is constituted of the mixture composed of >=65wt% and <=85wt% process oil having <=100 centistoke viscosity at 40 deg.C, >=1wt% and <=2wt% styrene/ ethylene/butylene copolymer having >=70% component ratio of the rubber intermediate block and >=15wt% and <=34wt% atactic PP having <=10,000 centipoise viscosity at 80 deg.C. The cable which has the low transmission loss characteristic even at a low temp. and obviates the outflow of the waterproof compd. in a using temp. region is thus obtd.
