PURPOSE:To reduce a load to an air conditioner, by a method wherein a space for heat exchange between the open air and geothermal energy is provided in an underground part of a building and the open air is introduced into the indoor air conditioner after the open air temperature has been made to ascend by the use of geothermal energy. CONSTITUTION:A heat insulation material 8 is provided in an underground space A of a building. When an air conditioner 5 is operated, the open air flows into the underground space A through an open air inflow opening 4 and heat exchange is performed with geothermal energy which is transmitted through a base slab 1. As the open air flows through a small hole of a partition wall 7 at that time, it stays within the space A and the heat exchange is performed. The open air which has obtained the heat from geothermal energy is sent to the air conditioner 5. As for the underground space A, it is possible also to expedite the heat exchange by providing a gravel layer 11.
