PURPOSE:To enable four wheel drive operation with only one differential gear device, by extending drive shafts in an X-like shape from one differential gear device to four wheels. CONSTITUTION:Drive shafts are extended from one differential gear device to four wheels in an X-like shape. In this arrangement, the differential gear device coupled to the drive shafts for the four wheels is formed with a gear on the side opposite to the pinion gear side of a side gear, and a front wheel drive shaft gear and a rear wheel drive shaft gear on one side are attached to the right and left of one side-gear in a V-like shape. Further, four gears in total are provided each between the side gear and each of the front and rear wheel drive gears for the change-over method among the front wheel drive mode, the rear wheel drive mode and the four wheel drive mode, and two gears on the front wheel side and two gears on the rear wheel side are selectively disengaged to change over the drive modes. |
