PURPOSE:To maintain all of sensitivity, contrast, and max. density high even in the case of processing with a developing soln. contg. a comparatively large amt. of fog inhibitor, and to obtain an image superior also in gradation by forming on a support a layer contg. photosensitive silver halide, metal salt particles, physical development nuclei, and at least one kind of compd. represented by formula I . CONSTITUTION:In formula I , Z is a nonmetallic atomic group necessary for forming a 5-membered hetero ring, or a ring optionally condensed with benzene, optionally substd. by lower alkyl, such as methyl, or an alkali metal salt of acyl group, preferably, contg. N, such as imidazole ring, and X is H, an alkali metal, or ammonium. Said formula of formula I can be used alone or in a combination of >=2 kinds of them in an amt. of 1X10<-5>-10<-1>, preferably, 1X10<-4>-1X10<-2>mol per 1mol of the sum of the photosensitive silver halide and the metal salt. |
