PURPOSE:To prevent a toner from becoming spent and to maintain copy image quality by forming a coat layer contg. a mercapto-functional organosilicon compd. on the surface of core particles. CONSTITUTION:The surface of the core particles is coated with a coating layer contg. a mercapto-functional organosilicon compd. A metal carbonyl compd. catalyst, preferably, such as Fe(CO)5, is added preferably, in an amt. of 0.1-6pts. wt. per 100pts.wt of the mercapto-functional organosilicon copolymer component. As the carrier core particles, conventionally used ones, such as sand particles, having, preferably, an average particle diameter of 30-500mum, are widely used. It is preferred to use a mixture of the toner and the carrier so as for the toner to attach to the coating layers of the carrier particles in a degree of occupying 30-90% of the total area of the layer. |
