The assembly (e.g. for autos, trucks, airplanes, bicycles, wheelbarrows and motorcycles) includes a solid tire (14) of resilient material, (e.g. polyurethane rubber) which contains a plurality of ventilation passages (25) arranged in a configuration around the tire and extending generally radially through the tire from the tread 23 to the wheel-rim engaging surface 24.
