PURPOSE:To prevent the whitening of an image and to increase the density by subjecting a separated function type electrophotographic sensitive body to repeated corona electrostatic charge and exposure or to AC charge for at least 1min before use. CONSTITUTION:A separated function type electrophotographic sensitive body 3 obtd. by forming an underlayer, a charge generating layer and a charge transferring layer on an electrically conductive support such as an Al cylinder is subjected to repeated electrostatic charge at 200-1,500V and exposure for >=1min with a corona discharger 1 and an exposure lamp 2 before use. The sensitive body 3 may be subjected to AC charge at <=2kV voltage for >=1min through rollers 4. At this time, exposure is not necessarily required but accelerates the effect of AC charge. Thus, the whitening of an image is prevented and the density is increased. |
