A refractory compn. resistant to molten aluminium has a slag addition contg. crystalline aluminium-boron oxide compds. It comprises 45-90 wt.% of a refractory aggregate, 3-40 wt.% of a binder, and 1-12 wt.% of an additive contg. crystalline 9Al2O3.2B2O3. The binder is selected from calcium aluminate, cement, aluminium phosphate, phosphoric acid, alkali silicates, and clay. The refractory particles are selected from chrome ore, bauxite, tabular alumina, silica, spinel, magnesia-chrome, mullite, expanded clay and shale. |
