PURPOSE:To facilitate NC machining program generation in an automatic program generator having a unit for graphic display of tool path by displaying an auxiliary function instruction near the tool path on the display of the graphic display unit. CONSTITUTION:To a common bus 2 connected to a control processor unit 1, a disk memory 8 is connected through a random memory 3, a memory 4, a working memory 5, an NC data memory 6 and an interface 7. A number of NC programs are stored in the disk memory 8. A keyboard 9 connected through an interface 10 to the common bus 2 communicates key information to the CPU 1. To the common bus 2 a graphic display unit 13 is connected through an interface 12. The display unit 13 is equipped with a display 14, its control circuit 15, a graphic memory 16, a character generator 17 and a refresh memory 18. An NC unit 19 and a tape puncher 22 are connected through interfaces 20 and 23 to the bus 2.
