800,027. Photographic processing devices. INTERNATIONAL POLAROID CORPORATION. Oct. 31, 1956 [Dec. 27, 1955], No. 33286/56. Class 98(2) A portable device suitable for use in the process of Specification 800,028, in which a silver transfer-reversal print is given a second or so of washing in aqueous lower alcohol to remove processing reagents which might discolour the print but to prevent dissolution of a newly formed film carrying the image, comprises rectangular container 10 for the washing liquid provided with elastic closure element 20 having longitudinal slit 30 normally closed but openable by pressure on the end walls 14 for introduction of a print 29. To ensure retention of slit 30 in the closed position, for instance when the device is carried in the user's pocket, retaining element 32 pivoted at 42 is arranged to clamp over closure element 20. Figs. 1-3 (not shown) are concerned with the manner of fitting of the closure element 20 on to the container 10, flanges to squeegee the print during its withdrawal and guide channels to hold the print centrally in the container. Of seven other Figs. (also not shown), Figs. 5, 6 are directed to a device very similar to that of Figs. 1-4; Fig. 7 to a device in which the entrance slit for the print may normally assume the open position but be held closed by a retaining element; Fig. 8 to a device with a rectangular upper section for the print and an enlarged lower section for washing liquid, usable by inversion of the device so that the liquid may fill the upper section, or by shaking the device; and Figs. 9-11 to mechanisms operable as on the end walls 14 of Fig. 4 to open the slit 30 for insertion of a print, slightly open it for squeegeeing during withdrawal of a print, and then return it to its closed position. |
