PURPOSE:To efficiently dehydrate sludge, by adding a mixture consisting of a powdery cationic polymer flocculant with a large MW and a liquid cationic polymer flocculant with a small MW to sludge. CONSTITUTION:A powdery cationic polymer flocculant with MW of 1,000,000-10,000,000 and a liquid polymer flocculant with MW of 10,000-100,000 are mixed in a ratio of 8:2-1:9 as effective components and the resulting mixture is added to sludge in a pure amount of 0.6-3.0wt% of SS of said sludge. As the powdery cationic polymer flocculant, there are a polymer of alkyl methacrylate or methacrylic ester and a copolymer of both monomers and, as the liquid cationic polymer flocculant, polyalkylene polyamine and a derivative thereof are designated.
