PURPOSE:To accomplish speedy transport and to prevent defective operation due to adhesion of paints by disposing a shuttle conveyer in a painting chamber and providing a cover for covering a portion engaging with a support for a painted material and water sealing the portion. CONSTITUTION:While a lift device 17 is located at a lowering position, and an engaged portion 16 is placed on a lower horizontal member 11C, a traveling frame 4 is reciprocated by fixed pitch through a pinion 10 and a rack 9 to conduct conveying in a painting chamber 1. At this time, a skid 14 is moved in a body therewith. Subsequently, the movement is stopped, and an elevating member 10 is lifted up by the lift device 17 to lift up the skid 14, so that the engaged portion 16 is separated from the lower horizontal member 11C to paint a material 15 to be painted. Meanwhile, a slit 23 is always kept to be sealed with water 22. In this arrangement, parts can be kept from entering through the slit to prevent defective driving due to adhesion of paints.
