PURPOSE:To obtain a water amount regulator for water-fountain roller of a printer capable of remote controlling and presetting by a method in which many draining blades are closely attached over the whole width of a paper, and the regulating screws are turned by a motor and the turning amounts are detected. CONSTITUTION:Draining blades 3 whose contact pressure is regulated by a small-size motor are attached by set plates 15 in such a way as to suppress warping of the blades 3. Since the blades 3 are attached by adjoining each blade holder 6 and each fixing blanket 7 to a support shaft 11 and closely arranged over the whole widthwise length of a paper, each holder 6 is more or less deformed so that the blankets 7 are put into the blade holders 6. In the draining device, regulating screws 8 are turned by a small-size motor nMn, the turning amounts are detected by a detector, and the contact pressures of the blades 3 on the basis of the turning amounts are obtained. On the basis of the contact pressures, the turning amounts are controlled to enable remote controlling and presetting of contact pressures to be performed.
