PURPOSE:To grasp the relation with a text by displaying the sentences included in the 1st display area in the order of frame priority and then a desired sentence in the 2nd display area with no frame. CONSTITUTION:A document producing/editing device is provided with a translation part 10 which executes the translating function, an editor 12 which edits documents, an image scanner 14 serving as a system input device, a keyboard 16, an input control part 18 which controls an input device, a display device 20 which displays visually picture information, a display control part 22, a document file memory part 24 and a translated sentence temporary memory part 26. The text is sent to the part 10 in the prescribed frame priority for production of a desired sentence. The sentences included in the text are displayed at the upper half part of the screen 50 of the device 20 together with the desired sentence displayed at the lower half part of the screen 50 with no frame respectively. Thus the relation between the text and the desired sentence can be known simply.
