The apparatus for the recognition of eye disorders, especially of glaucoma, by means of suction cup compression tonometry comprises suction cups (14, 15) which can simultaneously be applied onto both eyeballs, the reduced pressure prevailing on the two suction cups being adjustable, independently and automatically via a control part connected with a microprocessor. The microprocessor possesses at least one memory for recording the initial internal pressure and a desired pressure increase value, and a timer automatically limits the pressure increase. <IMAGE>
