Faulty performance in nuclear power stations can lead to accidents! A special sensor system provides the possibility here of acquiring the measured variables with the necessary speed and accuracy. The invention provides: There is an automatic, passive safety monitoring system of in-pile loops for nuclear power stations using pressurised water reactors, which can be used in accordance with the following basic tasks: a. identifying accidents, b. for the purpose of safety and monitoring, c. process control during operation, and d. notice of end of accident. The system consists of a control and read system and a data source with data memory. The system is designed such that the data source with data memory requires no dedicated power supply and can be mounted maintenance-free on any object to be monitored. This unit can operate with no off-site power supply. In order to program and erase the data source with data memory, a programming and erasing unit is available for use at central system management locations. A battery-driven reader with digital display can be used for monitoring the memory contents of the data source with data memory on the spot.
