发明名称 RELATIVE POSITIONING OF PRINTING HEADS IN MULTI-HEAD PRINTER
摘要 PURPOSE:To eliminate the need to adjust the spacing between carriages and contrive higher printing efficiency, by positioning the carriages relatively to each other through causing them to collide against each other. CONSTITUTION:The carriages 12a, 12b are self-propelled to move, and printing heads 14a, 14b are located respectively at printing-starting positions. In the case of printing a continuous line of data, the boundary between the printing areas where the printing heads 14a, 14b are taking charge respectively is based on a value n1 set on a feed-back signal counter. The number n1 set on the counter is the number of feed-back signal pulses corresponding to the spacing between the respective original positions L0 and R0 of the carriage 12a and the carriage 12b in their colliding condition. Only the widths of the carriages 12a, 12b are the factor in determining the spacing between L0 and R0 and the carriages can be manufactured with a precision of + or -0.01mm as to the width. Accordingly, the respective printing areas for the printing heads can be accurately determined, and printing quality is prevented from being deteriorated.
