In order to transfer the running gear, in the case of multiply branched drag line conveyor installations, from one conveying track to another, the mechanical lowering of the drive stops (2) of the running gear in the respective transfer region by the feeding chain (3a) and its drivers (5, 5a) into a lower functional position (U1) is provided, in which no collision can take place between the drive stop (2) and the driver (6, 6a) of the receiving chain (4a) which is running in the upper functional position (O1). The stop (2) never enters into active engagement with the latter (4a) until, as a result of the curving path, it moves laterally (P1) out of the driver (5, 5a) of the feeding chain (3a) and is then swung back upwards (O1) automatically (P2) or under the action of a spring. <IMAGE>
