<p>The blast furnace is operated especially by the back-pressure process, and coarse dust removal (2) and fine dust removal (3) and at least one turbine stage (4, 5) are provided downstream of the furnace top and, in addition, there is a branch for top gas which can be burned with admixing in one or more cowpers (6), and cold air can be fed to the cowpers by means of a cold gas blower (7) and the hot blast generated in the cowper (6) can be introduced into the tuyère connections of the blast furnace (1). To improve the utilisation of the energy content of both the blast furnace top gas and the cowper gases, it is proposed that top gas for heating the cowpers (6) can be branched off between the fine dust removal (3) and upstream of one of the turbines (4, 5), i.e. before expansion, and can be burned in the cowper (6) under pressure. <IMAGE></p> |
