PURPOSE:To obtain a low-cost color sensor relatively trouble-free with a simple construction, by arranging a polarization plate which tends to increase almost linearly in the light transmission with respect to the wavelength of light and a photoelectric element with a flat spectroscopic characteristic in the visible light range arranged therebehind. CONSTITUTION:This color sensor 10 is made up of a polarization plate 1 which tends to increase almost linearly in the light transmission with respect to the wavelength of light and a photoelectric element 2 such as photodiode with the spectroscopic characteristic as flat as possible in the visual light range. Illumination intensity sensors 11 are provided side by side at positions of the color sensor 10 and a feedback is applied to regulate the quantity of light from a light source 12 so that the output of the sensor 11 will be always constant. Thus, the quantity of light entering the color sensor 10 can be always constant and easy decision on the color of an object can be done once by calibrating the output of the color sensor 10. |
