PURPOSE:To obtain the titled fine particles excellent in uniformity of a particle diameter, exactness of specificity and solvent resistance, by polymerizing a crosslinking monomer absorbed by crosslinked fine polymer particles with a noncrosslinking monomer. CONSTITUTION:99-99.95wt% noncrosslinking monomer, 1-0.05wt% crosslinking monomer (e.g., divinylbenzene) and optionally an emulsifier are dispersed in a dispersing medium and polymerized in the presence of a polymerization initia tor to obtain crosslinked fine polymer particles (A) having a standard deviation of a particle size distribution <=0.5mum, a particle diameter of 0.4-20mum and a degree of swelling of 8-100, 100pts.wt. component A is allowed to absorb 100-3,000pts.wt. mixture of 1mol of a difficultly water-soluble noncrosslinking monomer (B) and 0.1-1mol of difficultly water-soluble crosslinking monomer (C) and the absorbed monomer mixture is polymerized in the presence of 0.1-3wt%, based on monomer, oil-soluble polymerization initiator to obtain the titled fine spherical particles having a particle diameter of 1-30mum, a stan dard deviation of a particle size distribution <=1mum.
