PURPOSE:To enable the detection of an internal insulation condition from the potential difference between two insulated ground metal containers to apply the extraction output to a partial discharge pulse detector for extraction of a component exceeding 1.5MHz. CONSTITUTION:Ground metal containers 4a and 4b are insulated from each other electrically with an insulating ring 7 grasped between flange sections 5a and 5b. When measuring the potential difference between the franges 5a and 5b with a partial discharge pulse detector 9, the tuning center frequency of the detector 9 is set over 1.5MHz to remove a noise or the like from a power transmission line at the franges 5a and 5b by measuring the frequency output above the frequency component. As a high frequency voltage about the same as the voltage generated in a high voltage conductor 1 is generated between the franges 5a and 5b, the detection of a partial discharge pulse can be done without providing a special terminal at a spacer 2 for holding the conductor 1. This also enables the detection of all insulation troubles inside without examining all of spacers 2 in a gas insulated switch gear.
