PURPOSE:To improve safety of cutting work through reliable holding of an upper pile during cutting of a steel pile, by a method wherein the holding metal of a pile holding device is engaged externally of the periphery of a spot, intended to be cut, between the upper pile and a lower pile. CONSTITUTION:A pile holding device 6 consists of a holding metal 7, a hanging jig 8, wires 9, and a hanging jig 8 and the holding metal 1 inner surface of the cylinder body 10, and a notched recess part 11b which corresponds to a spot 1a to be cut of a steel pipe pile 1 and is formed in the rib 11. A cutting device 2 is hanged down to the interior of the steel pipe pile 1 in a condition in which the pile holding device 6 is engaged externally of the spot 1a, intended to be cut, of the steel pipe pile 1, and the spot 1a, intended to be cut, of the steel pipe 1 is cut. The holding metal 7 of the pile holding device 6 is engaged with externally of the periphery of the spot, intended to be cut, positioned between an upper pile 11b and a lower pile 1c. This enables the upper pile 1b to be reliably held during cutting of the steel pipe pile 1, and permits improvement of safety of a cutting work. |
