PURPOSE:A culture device suitable for high-efficiency culture by carrier method, wherein a culture tank is divided into a medium preparing chamber having a medium feed opening, an aerating gas feed part, and a stirring part set at the lower part of the culture tank and a culture chamber laid above the medium preparing chamber by a partitioning material having hole dimension not to pass a carrier laid between the medium preparing chamber and the culture chamber. CONSTITUTION:The medium preparing chamber A is charged with a medium from the medium feed opening 8 and an aerating gas from the sparger 7, respectively, and the medium and the aerating gas are vigorously stirred by the agitating blade 4. The sensor group 6 detects state of the medium, and each control means is regulated to make pH, dissolved oxygen, and temperature fittest. And, the medium after the control and treatment is fed through the porous plate 2 to the culture chamber 2, and suspension culture is performed in the chamber B by carrier method. Cells and carriers used are fed from the seeding opening 13 by a sterile means. In the operation, since stirring is carried out by smoothing the vigorous stirring in the chamber A by the porous plate 8, microorganisms are the cells are prevented from being destroyed. Since the porous plate does not pass the carriers, destruction of the microorganisms in the chamber A can be prevented.
