PURPOSE:To obtain a picture reader reproducing an original picture with fidelity by using a picture data of an adjacent picture element so as to restore a missing picture data at a joint between solid-state image pickup elements. CONSTITUTION:When a picture data corresponding to a data A0 is outputted to a noted picture element R2DATA, an output R1DATA of a shift register 4 outputs a picture data corresponding to a data A5. On the other hand, picture data left/right adjacent picture element A0,A5 are outputted from shift registers 5,4 at a timing where the noted picture element s to be 'interpolation data', and they are inputted to a selector 9 at the same time. A select input CY2 of a selector 10 selects the R2DATA in case other than a joint and selects an output of the selector 9 only at the joint respectively. The selector 9 selects which of picture data A0, A5 adjacent to the noted picture element is to be a correction data depending on the X terminal input at the timing when the noted picture element R2DATA is to be 'interpolation data'. |
