The method involves a jacket 2, closed at its end and made of a thermoplastic at a temperature slightly below the melting point, being extruded inside an unsealed metallic enclosure 1 open at one end and shaped like a storage water-heater tank or other type of tank, then sectioning and flattening the said jacket 2 against the inside of the enclosure 1, the latter forming a blowing mould using a pressurised gas introduced by a channel formed in a closure mould pressed tightly against the walls of the opening of the metallic enclosure 1, forming a sandwich around the outside edge of the said jacket 2. Application particularly to the production of tanks for electrical storage water-heaters. <IMAGE>
