Rapid fastening device or coupling between a member of a machine tool and a holding system such as a tool holder or a clamping device such as a chuck, comprising at least one irreversible locking system, the irreversibility of the locking being produced by means comprising contact surfaces which, in the blocking position, interact in the locking and unlocking position with corresponding contact surfaces of members controlling the locking and the unlocking, with each generatrix of the said contact surfaces being inclined with respect to a line parallel to the longitudinal axis or a line perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the said locking and unlocking control member, characterised in that the said angle of inclination alpha of the generatrices of the said contact surfaces 20, 30 has a value going from 3 DEG to 15 DEG , and in that each of the said locking and unlocking control members 2 is inclined by an angle beta with respect to the longitudinal axis x-x of the coupling, this angle beta being able to assume a value from 0 DEG to 25 DEG , it being possible, moreover, for a compensation system to be provided to ensure the precision and effectiveness of the said irreversible locking during operation of the said coupling or fastening device. <IMAGE>
