An underground long-distance heating line for hot media, in particular for hot water of 100-130 DEG C, consists of composite jacketed pipes (10). A pressure-resistant, weldable inner pipe (12) for carrying the medium, at least one layer of rigid, heat-insulating material (16) and an outer pipe of plastic are frictionally connected to one another. The inner pipe (12) carrying the medium consists of a material of sufficiently high strength, and, for the long-distance heating line, the composite jacketed pipes (10) are laid in a straight line over runs of any distance. In this manner, neither changes in direction required by this system, nor axial compensators, nor a pretension are necessary. <IMAGE>
