A conveyor belt covering of flexible, dustproof and weatherproof design, especially for underground use, has longitudinally spaced hoops which engage transversely over the conveyor belt structure to tension cover sheets (3) of flexible webs of material fitting closely in sections. A hoop (1) is designed with two trough-shaped, peripherally extending beads (2). The cover sheet (3) has a loop-shaped, hollow turn-over at each of its connecting edges at the hoop side, through which a tensioning cord (6) is drawn. The connecting edge of the cover sheet (3), which is inserted into the trough-shaped bead by the turn-over, can be lashed tightly by means of the cord (6) secured under tension in the region of the hoop ends. <IMAGE>
