摘要 PURPOSE:To enable dot pattern printing in high density to be achieved through a simple construction, by a method wherein the number of dots on a predetermined block unit basis for printing pattern data is calculated, the numbers of dots are converted into predetermined weight coefficients, which are added, and when the sum thus obtained exceeds a predetermined value, the pattern is judged to be a high-duty pattern, and partition dot printing is performed. CONSTITUTION:A one-line amount of printing pattern data transferred from a host computer (a) are stored into an image buffer 12. A CPU 11 calculates the number of dots by utilizing a dot number table stored in a ROM 15 on the basis of bytes for a block, the numbers of dots for the block are added to each other, and the number N of dots thus obtained is converted into a predetermined weight coefficient (point). The points on a block unit basis are sequentially summed up for one line, and when the sum is not less than a predetermined value, the pattern is judged to be a high-duty pattern. The CPU 11 commands a partition printing operation, and a printing-controlling part 13 controls operation of a printing mechanism part 14, thereby performing partition printing.
