PURPOSE:The titled additive that contains a salt of graft polymer resulting from reaction between a naphthalenesulfonic acid-formaldehyde condensate and (meth)acrylic acid in the presence of a polymerization initiator, thus giving a slurry of long-term stability. CONSTITUTION:The objective additive contains, as an active ingredient, a salt, preferably sodium, potassium, ammonium or lower amine salt of a graft polymer resulting from reaction of (A) a condensate between an (alkyl-substituted) naphthalenesulfonic acid and (B) formaldehyde in the presence of (C) a polymerization initiator, preferably of a peroxide. The amount of component A is preferably 0.1-50pts.wt. per 1pt.wt. of component B. The solid fuel is preferably coal, coal dry-distilled coke or petroleum coke.
