PURPOSE:To regulate the balance of positive and negative peak values of an output waveform without influence of the value of an output load current by providing a midtap at the output winding of a transformer for producing a high voltage output, and regulating the peak values of the voltage presented at the midtap. CONSTITUTION:In a power source for supplying a high voltage to a high voltage corona discharge charger, a midtap Tp is provided at the output winding 603 of a stepup transformer 60 for generating a high voltage output. Regulating means 631 for regulating a voltage peak value is connected between the tap Tp and one output line GND. The regulating means is formed, for example, preferably of a diode D2 and a variable resistor VR2. When the regulating means (VR2) is thus regulated, power can be supplied by altering the balance of the positive and negative peak values when a sheet is separated from a photosensitive drum. |
