<p>A method of synthesizing L-tryptophan from glycine, formaldehyde and indole using biocatalytic amounts of serine hydroxymethyltransferase, tetrahydrofolic acid and tryptophan synthetase or tryptophanase. The serine hydroxymethyltransferase and tryptophan synthetase or tryptophanase are preferably provided to the reaction medium in the form of expression products of transformed microorganisms containing expression vectors coding for serine hydroxymethyltransferase and tryptothan synthetase or tryptophanase.</p> |
