The invention relates to a process for producing a sieve-like ceramic pot as a burner hat for gas burners, the ceramic pot being inserted between a pressure-resistant inner mould and a pressure-resistant outer mould, the inner mould being designed in the interior as a piston-cylinder arrangement and the inner and outer mould having in their side walls bores which are aligned with one another, after insertion of the ceramic pot the piston of the inner mould being introduced into the cylinder formed by the inner mould and, by means of the piston rod and the piston, a fluid being forced under high pressure through the bores present in the inner mould and outer mould in such a manner that the wall parts, lying between the bores aligned with one another, of the ceramic pot are bored by the pressure fluid.
