PURPOSE:To accelerate automation and unmanned operation and to deal with abnormal occurrence and malfunction speedily and accurately by providing a speech display mechanism to a development processing process and/or a printing process. CONSTITUTION:A developer tank 10, a fixer tank 11, a washing tank 12, and a drying part 13 are arranged in a housing 1 successively along a photosensitive material conveyance path 9 from the side of a photosensitive material intake 5 to the side of a photosensitive material outlet 6. An automatic developing device is equipped with the speech display mechanism 15, which consists of a control circuit 16, a speech generating circuit 17, and a speech generator 18. The speech generator 18 makes a display regarding a processing state or display regarding abnormality, and further a display regarding malfunction, etc., by a preset synthesized speech or recorded speech. A monitor 19 and a developer supply device driving circuit 20 are connected to the control circuit 16 and the monitor 19 is combined with the speed generating mechanism 16 to monitor a fault of the automatic developing device and also display the control state of processing liquid.
