PURPOSE:To form a plastic electrode having large strength and lightweight by using plastic as a substrate, filling this substrate with a conductive material to form a current collector, and providing a conductive macromolecule material on its surface by electrolytic polymerization. CONSTITUTION:A substrate made of polyolefin, which is a lightweight material not reacted with an electrolyte, is filled with carbon black used as a conductive material to produce a conductive current collector 3. A layer 6 of a conductive macromolecule material, e.g., polypyrrole, polyacetylene, polythiophene, is provided on the surface of this current collector by electrolytic polymerization, etc. to form a plastic electrode, which is used to form a cell for car. Accordingly, the strength of the cell against vibrations, shocks, etc. can be increased, it can be made lightweight by using plastic as the substrate, and the cell having a large energy density and output density can be obtained. |
