Method and apparatus for studying a gas stream

The invention relates to a method for determining gaseous and/or solid components of a gas stream, especially of a waste gas stream, in which a gas sample is taken from the gas stream to be studied, the gas sample is filtered and condensed and the condensed gas sample is fed to at least one sorption stage to be analysed subsequently and is then either returned into the gas stream or discharged into the environment. The gas sample drawn off is passed, from the off-take point up to the return or discharge point, essentially exclusively over guide surface and/or test surface contact material comprising silicates and/or borates (and/or phosphates) of sodium and/or potassium and/or magnesium and/or aluminium and/or barium and/or, optionally, zinc. The invention also relates to an apparatus which is suitable and designed for implementing the abovementioned method.
