The invention relates to novel 6-t-butyl-3-methylthio-4-sulphimido-1,2,4-triazin-5-ones of the general formula (I) <IMAGE> in which R<1> represents alkyl, optionally substituted aralkyl or optionally substituted aryl and R<2> represents alkyl, alkoxyalkyl, alkylthioalkyl, optionally substituted aralkyl or optionally substituted aryl, or R<1> and R<2> together represent a divalent alkylene chain and n represents 0 or 1, but where R<1> and R<2> do not simultaneously represent methyl if n represents 1, processes for their preparation, and their use as herbicides.
