A solution comprising a chromogen or substrate for use in an enzyme immunoassay, enzyme linked immunosorbent assay, immunoenzymometric assay or immunoperoxidase assays is stabilized to substantially reduce substrate drift. This is achieved by the addition of a chelating agent in an amount effective to substantially prevent nonenzymatic oxidation of the substrate or chromogen. |
