PURPOSE:To constitute a titled magnetic head so that it gives no damage to a magnetic sheet by forming with a high flatness a non-magnetic thin film having a hardness of the same degree as a non-magnetic material or above, on the side face of a main core to which a reinforcing core is to be joined, and joining the reinforcing core to the thin film. CONSTITUTION:On the side face of a main core 1 to which a reinforcing core 4 is to be joined, a non-magnetic thin film 6 having a hardness of the same degree as a non-magnetic material layer 7 or above is formed with a high flatness, and the reinforcing core 4 is joined to the thin film 6. Since the thin film 6 is provided with the surface of a high flatness, an adhesive agent to be packed between the thin film 6 and the reinforcing core 4 becomes an extremely thin layer having a uniform thickness. Accordingly, when performing a polishing finish to a head body, the layer of the adhesive agent is not worn out deeper than the opposed contact surface, and since the thin film 6 has a sufficient hardness, namely, wear resistance, when executing a polishing finish, the thin film is not worn out deeper than the opposed contact surface, either. In this way, since there is no recessed part on the opposed contact surface 8, there is no possibility that a magnetic sheet is damaged.
