PURPOSE:To obtain a recorder comprising a color forming mechanism capable of forming a color with a desired hue and suitable for recording on a color forming type multicolor thermal recording material free of mixing of colors, by reciprocating a thermal recording material relatively to a thermal head and a filter means. CONSTITUTION:When the thermal recording material 1 is brought to the position of the thermal head 4 by rotating a drum 3, a CPU 40 reads Y-component image signals stored into a buffer memory 45 through a thermal head controlling part 46, records the signals, turns ON a light source 11 through a light source and filter controlling part 48, and positioned a filter 12Y on an optical axis 11a. When the recording material 1a with images thermally recorded by the head 4 is passed on the lower side of a light source unit 10, and a diazo compound is decomposed by ray sent through the filter 12Y, whereby an image is recorded in color Y on the material 1A. The recording in the color Y is performed up to a time point t1, then the drum 3 is reversely rotated in a direction of arrow R, the a shutter 12Y is returned to its original position through the part 48, and the light source 11 is turned OFF. |
