PURPOSE:To stably obtain a grain oriented silicon steel sheet having a uniform characteristic in the longitudinal direction by providing a temp. gradient at which the temp. is lower toward the front end side in the longitudinal direction thereby supressing the temp. of difference between the top and bottom surfaces in heating of a specifically composed silicon slab prior to hot rolling. CONSTITUTION:The steel slab consisting of 0.01-0.06wt% C, 3.10-4.5% Si, 0.01-0.2% Mn, 0.003-0.1% Mo, 0.005-0.5% Sb, 0.005-0.10% >=1 kinds of S and Se and the balance Fe and inevitable impurities is heated to >=1,250 deg.C and is subjected to hot rough rolling and finish rolling. The temp. gradient at which the temp. is lower toward the front end side of the slab and increases continuously toward the rear end side is provided in a 10-100 deg.C range in the longitudinal direction of the slab in the stage of such heating. The temp. difference in the relative positions on the top and bottom surfaces of the slab is suppressed to <=70 deg.C. The degree of integration of the texture in the (110)(001) orientation near the top and bottom surface of the hot rolled sheet is thereby increased. The sheet is subjected to cold rolling including intermediate annealing after hot rolling to the final sheet thickness. |
